Dick Baumbusch earned both a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering at Bucknell University, and a MBA from Harvard University. Leveraging this technical and business foundation, Dick's career has encompassed leadership roles within the telecommunications, information services, computer software, financial services, packaged goods, and consumer electronics industries.
Dick launched a new venture for US West where he established an 18 person marketing department, and also led corporate branding, and knowledge management consulting projects.
Prior to US West, as Vice President and Managing Director for Citicorp, he led strategic repositioning, branding and new product development initiatives. As President of Simon & Schuster's Electronic Publishing Division in New York, Dick drove the strategic direction for this start-up division. He also held positions as General Manager for CBS Electronics and was Director of Marketing for Mattel Electronics where he grew their Intellivision videogame business from zero to $600M in 2 years. Dick began his career as a Product Manager for General Foods Corporation, in White Plains, New York. Prior to joining Valant & Company, Mr. Baumbusch worked as a consultant for the The Knowledge Advantage Group. Known for his creativity and innovation, Dick worked primarily in the areas of marketing, new product development, and business performance for such clients as Qwest, Chase Manhattan, IBM, Compaq, TI, Chevron, Nabisco and Proctor & Gamble.
