Commitment Is Gained Through Promises By All To Meet The Company Objectives

Objectives are the quantified deliverables (goals) that the organization has set to achieve fulfillment of its long-term vision and strategies.

The objectives are set by the leadership of the organization but in order to meet the objectives, leadership must gain commitment from every contributor at every successive level in the organization down to and including first-line supervision. And, while the objectives are set by top management, clearly every level in the organization must have the opportunity to provide input upward to assure that the objectives are seen as reasonable and achievable by those who have to carry them out.

When an organization takes the time to communicate their objectives to all levels, welcomes feedback to the plan and obtains commitment from every contributor, the results are powerful. When commitment throughout the entire organization is achieved, the ability to meet the organization's objectives is assured. Why? People "get on board" to a plan they consider reasonable and doable. And - people deliver to what they personally commit.
