Recruiting employees and developing new leadership loom large for accounting firms, as management and partners from the baby-boomer generation approach retirement.
In Denver, the accounting profession recruits prospective employees while they're still in college, through events and programs with local universities.
Gary Mitchell, a partner at Anton Collins Mitchell LLP in Denver, said the recruiting process helps both firms and students find the right "fit."
"There are significant differences in experience that individuals will have depending on the size of the firm, the client base of the CPA firm and the culture of the firm," he said. "There are very different attributes to firms. It's a very deep investment to bring somebody in, train them, pull them up through the ranks, and we are really dedicated to maximizing their time period and their achievements." |
